CROSS COUNTRY RUN

On the 12^th April 2013, SMK Methodist (ACS) Ipoh had its annual Cross Country Run. The day started with more than 1300 students and ACS teachers gathering at the assembly ground. The students, who were eagerly waiting for this big event, listened attentively to a briefing given by our Sports Secretary, Mr. S. Alageasan a/l Singaram. When the first horn was sounded by Puan Soot Mooy Ching, our principal, Group C boys ran with great speed and excitement. The next group was the girls from Group A category. Here, we were proud to see our dear principal and Puan Chew Soo Chin joining in sportingly. Then the next group who ran was Group B and the Group A boys were the last group to sprint away. During the race, the students were encouraged by the teachers along the way and at every check point. When all came back, their faces were full of satisfaction over their achievement of finishing the race. Mr. Alageasan conducted the prize-giving ceremony and the top winner was Lavindren Luke a/l Panneerchelvam from Form 5B. He received a special prize of RM 50 which was sponsored by Mr. Wong Yoon Hoi, the top cross country runner in the school in 1965. Many thanks to Mr. Wong! Last but not least, a great thank you to all the teachers, uniform bodies and traffic police for making this annual event a success.
