THE 58^TH SWIMMING GALA 2013

           The 58^th Swimming Gala was held on the 22^nd and 23^rd August 2013. The first day, which started at 2.30 pm was packed with both boys’ and girls’ events, ranging from 100m freestyle to 25m butterfly style. On the second day, the Guest of Honour, Dr. Lai Thian Seong who is the Chairman of the Board of Governors, and other special guests made this annual school event a memorable one. After an inspiring speech from Dr. Lai and a splendid drum performance from the Wushu Club, the swimming events commenced. The first one was 50m breaststroke event in which the swimmers tried to outdo each other. Other events were as exciting as the first. The competition ended with the team events. Oldham once again controlled the swimming pool by emerging as the Champion. However, that was not the most exciting moment. The day ended with a spectacular fireworks display which was the first to see for an ACS Swimming Gala.
